Tea in the garden
Being in a garden setting is perfect for those who enjoy a little dose of nature. The Cellars-Hohenort is one of the best-known places to enjoy High Tea in Cape Town. Its iconic garden spans nine acres. After enjoying a leisurely tea, you can take a walk through the garden, which has the second-oldest camphor trees in South Africa, an enchanted forest, a vineyard, secret doorways, and a rose garden. There are places to stop and sit throughout the garden, allowing you to take your time as you explore at your own pace. Rather than setting a time on how long to spend on tea and a garden stroll, you can aim to escape the hustle and bustle for a few hours.
Classic High Tea is served on Saturdays and Sundays in The Greenhouse, Hohenort Terrace, or Greenhouse Bar, with beautiful views of the gardens. Times include 11:00 – 13:00 or 14:00 – 16:00, with bookings to be made 24 hours in advance. Menu highlights include decadent hazelnut cromboloni and classic scones and cucumber sandwiches. Fine teas, coffee, and bubbly are also included.
