“Great old world service”
When you walk in to reception and are greeted but the general manager this is a great start. This is a top hotel a great looking place but the service is 120 out of 100. The restaurant is very good highly recommended this place !!!

“Beautiful, elegant with superb staff”
We recently stayed at the lovely Cellars-Hohenort hotel in Constantia, the beautiful old wine area in the hills above Cape Town – the room was quiet, very comfortable and well appointed with great views of the gardens. The Conservatory restaurant had many delicious offerings for breakfast and gastronomic offerings for lunch and dinner. The staff is charming and extraordinary – many long-time employees with marvelous insight and who were extremely helpful, yet not obtrusive. We would recommend this hotel without reservation to anyone traveling to Cape Town and the surrounding areas – we cannot wait until our next trip to S Africa and our return to this amazing property!

“Classy hotel”
Stayed for 2 nights after staying at sister hotel in Plettenburg Bay. Beautiful hotel right on the cliffs. 5 minute walk to restaurants and bars and great cliff path walk right outside the hotel. Lovely swimming pool area in a central courtyard – very quiet and a sun trap. Great bar/lounge area looking out to sea. Restaurant very good serving tapas type small plates. Breakfast great – large choice and good service. We had a sea view room with huge bathroom. The room was very nice but some issues with privacy as the window next to the bed overlooks the coast path. Would visit again. Room Tip: sea view rooms every time!

The Marine, Hermanus, Whale Route, Western Cape, South Africa
“A true spoil!”
The Marine was everything I hoped it would be and more! I have had this hotel on my bucket list for a few years. After a difficult start to the year, my husband and I finally had the opportunity to visit and stay for a few nights. What a treat! The hotel is a grand old dame that has lost none of her olde worlde charm with all the mod cons you can think of. Our room was magnificent with a spectacular view over Walker Bay. We were treated to whales breaching on some mornings, which we could watch from the comfort our bed. Breakfasts were scrumptious with a view to match and dinners at Origins were sinfully delicious! The staff were extremely friendly and obliging, no request was too much or too difficult. We had a whale of a time and will definitely return to this beautiful piece of paradise. Thank you to the managers and staff who made our stay so amazing! Room Tip: Best views of Walker Bay were higher up from the top floor.

“Excellent option in Cape Town”
The hotel is located in an old winery that preserves all the buildings and gardens in a wonderful location. The breakfast is delicious and is served in a garden with a magnificent view of the mountains. The staff is excellent: we checked-in late at night and we were going to run a half marathon very early in the next morning. They opened the kitchen to prepare a pasta dish for us and also provided a breakfast pack for the morning. All with a big smile on their face! It is also important to advise that the hotel is around 20 min away by car from downtown, but we can assure that it is totally worth it, once you can alway call a taxi or uber and it wont cost you too much. We totally recommend this place to stay in Cape Town!

“Perfect location, awesome experience!!”
Beautiful setting on top of the hills in Hermanus overlooking the sea, a charming town in which to spend time and relax with great vineyards nearby. Rooms are spacious and well-appointed, majority are sea facing. The little touches were great, amenities were fabulous and staff are amazing.

“Warm South African hospitality & world class experience”
My wife & I checked into the spa for the day & decided to spend the night . Firstly we were pampered at the spa leaving after several hours of being spoiled with heavenly pleasures .We checked into our room & I informed Heidi that I am a vegan & she said not to worry The room was luxurious & had all the comfort one can ask for . We went for a long walk along the cliff path & enjoyed breathtaking views of Walker bay . Time for dinner when I was seated by Sam I got handed my own menu .Yes Vegan menu this bowled me over .Accommodating a clients needs is one thing but this service on an entirely different level . I was so impressed & when the food arrived I was even more impressed delicious , original ,creative & perfectly prepared. Thank you Sam & Heidi you are both shining stars & you do your hotel proud!! The Marine’s number One on my treat list. Room Tip: Don’t miss the breakfast YUMMY !!!

“A Way to Unwind”
The Plettenberg Hotel was a 5 star experience. Staff are very friendly and go out of their way to assist customers. Breakfasts are gourmet and the views of the beach simply breathtaking. The rooms, decor and mini bar top class. The bar staff are knowledgeable and always happy to serve delicious desserts at the bar even if you don’t feel like eating a full dinner at the restaurant in the evenings. Such a pleasant stay, we will be back. Thank you

“A wonderful experience”
My wife and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights in early March this year for the first time. It was not long enough and we will return next year. We stayed in the annex across from the main hotel. The room had a wonderful view of the beaches a few minutes walk from the hotel. The service was excellent and the staff were very helpful and professional. I recommend the restaurant. The hotel is located a few minutes away from to the centre of Plettenberg and a short taxi ride away from an alternative range of facilities.

“Best service ever met”
At this hotel we met the Best service ever met! The mini bar at the room was complimentary, drinks, chocolates everything. Even at the checking out, they gave us 2 home made cookies and cold water bottles “to the way”… There is a coffee machine with capsules in the room. We had never seen such a polite and helping stuff in any other hotel. If you are in Plettenberg area, don’t think about another hotel! This one is your best choice!
