A family vacation at The Plettenberg

Plettenberg Bay offers the ultimate family destination, not only does it have interesting sights and places to visit for the kids, but it also offers a year-round opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, thanks to its temperate climate.

We recently hosted family of four, the Copelands at The Plettenberg. Malu and James, enjoyed a stay at the Lookout Villa with their children, Elliott (6-years-old) and Wilder (8-months-old).

The Villa

The Lookout Villa is the perfect option for families (or groups of friends) travelling together. Guests are able to take full advantage of the spacious open-plan lounge, dining area, and well-stocked galley kitchen inside, while a private swimming pool and garden encourage the joys of outdoor living.

Stay TCH

Let a private chef do the cooking for you in the comfort and privacy of your own space. While Malu and James played with baby Wilder in the lounge, Elliott couldn’t tear his eyes away from the chef cooking in the kitchen—a future chef perhaps?

The Beach

There are a multitude of family-friendly beaches in Plett, the temperate water and climate make for the ultimate beach escape. Added to that sightings of dolphins and other marine creatures, and in season, whales too.

Stay TCH

All the Copeland family had to do was simply stroll onto Keurboomstrand to find a beach day set up for them to enjoy; complete with everything they needed to build sandcastles, play ball, picnic—and there was even a baby pool for little Wilder.

The Copelands loved the luxury of their own private pool overlooking the ocean. The grown-ups ordered cocktails for themselves, and chocolate milkshake for Elliott—which was the only way to get him out of the pool and all its toys.

The Braai
Stay TCH

What could be better than a family braai (barbeque) on vacation? The Copelands didn’t have to lift a finger; drinks and all the accoutrements for the braai were brought straight to their private villa. And yes, budding chef Elliott insisted on helping the chef.

Creature comforts

Well, maybe a dinner for two could almost trump the family barbeque.

Babysitters can also be arranged on request, allowing parents the chance to enjoy a romantic dinner at SeaFood at The Plettenberg.

There is so much ‘Family Fun in the Sun’ that can be enjoyed in and around Plettenberg Bay…
