The Pavilion is another restaurant at The Marine, with edgy black-and-white decor reminiscent of roaring 1920s glamour. The main attraction of the restaurant’s interior is the glass wine cellar, stocked with top South African wines; looking outside, the restaurant overlooks the cliffs of Hermanus and the surrounding area. The menu celebrates locally sourced seafood: for starters guests can expect salmon tataki or Overberg cheese soufflé, and for a main course of pan-fried abalone fresh from the Walker Bay Region.
The Pavilion also serves as the breakfast room at The Marine. An incredible spread of fresh fruit and freshly baked patisserie confections are laid out each morning, and hot breakfast options are served à la carte.
The seafood options on the dinner menu reflect the regional local produce, but if you are looking for meat, this is where you will find traditional roasts and grills. There is free-range sirloin steak or ribeye on the menu, as options served with your choice of two sides.
