Take to the sea

Overlooking the majestic beauty of Walker Bay, The Marine is ideally situated to take advantage of all Hermanus has to offer.

And, summer is the perfect time to take to the sea. Enjoy a variety of water-based activities. Here’s our pick of three to try:

Southern Right Charters
Set off from the Old Harbour on a purpose-built catamaran. On board a guide, will interpret the marine life encountered and provide insight while the action is taking place. There is also a videographer to capture footage, and will be available to guests after the trip. On the trip you may encounter: Bryde's whales, dolphins, African penguins, seals and many types of sea birds.

*In whale season (June to November) all of the above options offer great opportunities to see the Southern Right Whales up close (all these companies adhere to strict eco-friendly policies).

Percy’s Tours

All aboard a 36 ft. Custom Island Spirit Catamaran (for 12 passengers) for sunset cruises and day trips. This private yacht departs daily from Hermanus, and guided scuba diving can also be arranged. Light meals and drinks are included in the packages. At the moment Percy’s Tours say they’ve been spotting: Bryde's whales and pods of three playful dolphin species—humpback, common and bottlenose—as well as, African penguins, cormorants, skuas and many more sea-birds.
